Chart Methodology

TrendingChart publishes independent music and video rankings. This page explains where the data comes from, how often it is refreshed, and how ranking changes are shown on each chart.

Data sources

• YouTube Trending — Country and worldwide trending charts (overall and music), collected from public ranking pages.
• Most Viewed (24h) — The most-viewed YouTube videos in the past 24 hours, including language segments.
• Spotify Charts — Daily and weekly top songs by country and globally.
• Apple Music Charts — Top songs by country, with artwork enriched from iTunes Search.

Update frequency

• YouTube Trending (priority markets): about once per hour, at :15 UTC.
• Most Viewed 24h: about once per hour.
• Spotify Charts: twice daily (02:00 and 14:00 UTC).
• Apple Music Charts: once daily at 03:00 UTC.

Each chart page shows when that snapshot was last stored. Source platforms can lag or be temporarily unavailable.

Historical snapshots

TrendingChart stores the latest snapshot for each chart and uses rank-change signals from the source (for example +9, -3, or NEW). Peak rank and days-on-chart are computed from consecutive TrendingChart crawls for YouTube, Apple Music, and Most Viewed. Spotify Peak and Weeks come from the source chart columns.

Ranking movement

Movement is the difference between an item's previous rank and its current rank. If a song was #15 yesterday and is #6 today, the change is ↑9.

New entries

An item is marked NEW when it appears on the current chart and was not on the previous snapshot (or the source flags it as a new entry).

Data availability

Rankings can be delayed, incomplete, or missing when a source does not publish a chart for that market. Thin or empty charts are not submitted for search indexing.
